Gotta Make my Mark and be an Auctioneer

This past week, as I mentioned earlier, I was attending the National Auctioneer Association Conference and Show. (In beautiful Pittsburg, PA)

First of all, I am not going to say that my vacation was relaxing, but it was very entertaining. When you get a group of auctioneers together a great time can be had. Between all the seminars contests and awards, I once again began to consider when I would be taking up the gavel full time. It finally came down to this:

I will most likely become a full time auctioneer once I grow up. I think the only thing keeping me from growing up is the fact that once I take on auctions full time I will most likely do it the rest of my life. To be completely honest, that seems like a long time. I am at a stage in my life when I don’t even know where I am gonna live in September let alone want I want to accomplish in my life time.

So I guess I will continue on with my odd existence on the fence of being an auctioneer and a graphic designer. (Which isn’t so bad since I can make a living where I am right now.)

For Those About to Rock

Last night I was flipping through the channels when I came upon a show that blew me away. It was the premier of ROCKSTAR INXS!

Now normally I would not be up for another lame reality based show, (I prefer a plot and storyline) but what I saw was simply inspiring. These 15 people rocked my face off. The shear talent that I saw on stage in this competition blew me away. Not everyone will understand my odd desire to see a truly amazing rock show, but trust me… rock and roll still lives on.

So, here is my shameless plug for this great show on CBS. Give it a try, you just might find a little rocker buried deep within you.

That's How it Happens Livin' Life by the Drop

I can’t say that I have been livin’ life by the drop, but this past weekend I was able to hang out with friends till the wee hours of the morning and then get up and work all day. I haven’t lived like that since college and now that I am sitting at work I can see why. Yes, I am not as young as I used to be, but it still is good being young.

As for the rest of my life, I will be going on vacation next week to the National Auctioneer’s convention. This is a great event for Auctioneers who want to learn more about business and marketing success. This is a group of some of nicest professionals in the world and they are committed to building a profession filled with honesty and integrity. (Just thought I would mention it this since I will probably not update for another 2 months.)

For the Longest Time

I thought those song lyrics would be an appropriate title since I have neglected this blog for quite some time. I apologize to both of you who are reading this, but I will not go so far as to say that I will be keeping up with this.

As for myself I have been rather busy with work. (both jobs) As some who visit this site can attest auctions are harder to work than they look. From early morning and late evenings to moving sleeper sofas and parking cars, a day in the life of an auction is a tiring one. Now, I am not complaining, cause I do enjoy a good sale, but Auctions usually occur on a Saturday. (This conflicts with day I would like to spend sleeping in, visiting friends and doing yard work.) So yes, even paying bills can seem a bit difficult when you still work your regular 9-5 as well.

I guess in the end I did kinda vent this time around… I’ll try not to let that happen again.
